Miami football hopes to keep it rolling vs Louisville: Game Info
The Miami football team tries for their first three-game winning streak of 2019 when they host Louisville on Saturday on senior day and homecoming at Hard Rock Stadium.
Following their 27-10 demolition of Florida State on Saturday the Miami football team hopes to earn their first three-game winning streak of 2019 when they host Louisville on Saturday for Senior Day/Homecoming. The Cardinals enter Saturday’s game off a bye having improved to 5-3 after defeating Virginia two weeks ago.
Miami will be playing the Cardinals for the first time since they lost 31-13 in Louisville’s inaugural game in the ACC in 2014. That game was the debut of quarterback Brad Kaaya for Miami. The wins over Pittsburgh and FSU the last two weeks have put the Hurricanes back into the race to win the ACC Coastal Division.
The Hurricanes are 3-3 in the ACC tied with North Carolina for fourth place. Virginia leads the Coastal with a 4-2 record, Pittsburgh in 3-2 and Virginia Tech is 2-2. The Hurricanes defeated the Cavaliers and Panthers and lost to the Hokies. The Coastal is jumbled with several key games coming up down the stretch.
Louisville is 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the ACC. The Cardinals are in third place in the ACC Atlantic. Clemson leads the Atlantic at 6-0 and Wake Forest is second at 3-1. The Tigers host the Demon Deacons play next weekend. Clemson is the overwhelming favorite to win their fifth straight Atlantic Division title.
After a 2-2 September, Louisville won three out of four in October. The Cardinals’ three losses this season were to Notre Dame in the season opener, Florida State in September and Clemson last month. Louisville is 1-1 on the road this season with a loss at Clemson and 62-59 win at Wake Forest.
