Touted as the longterm answer at QB but ended up finishing third in three-way QB race.

9) UM quarterback Jarren Williams. Started so promisingly before unraveling in the final three games.

By nearly every measure the Miami Hurricanes football program did not find an answer at QB in 2019. Williams flashed multiple times that he might have been the longterm answer for Miami at QB. He had several outstanding games capped by setting the program record with six touchdown passes against Louisville.

It’s hard to say if the Herald is correct saying that Martell was touted as the longterm answer for Miami at QB. He was touted as a dynamic player with a winning history. When you consider the history of QB at Miami the performance by Williams against the Cardinals was legendary. He needs consistency in the future.

5) UM quarterback Jarren Williams’ epic six touchdown, no interception game against Louisville before unraveling late in the season.

The six TD performance by Williams against Louisville broke a six-way tie for the Miami TD record of five touchdown passes in a game. The most recent Miami signal-caller with five TD passes in a game was Stephen Morris against North Carolina State in 2019.
