The Miami Hurricanes good, bad and ugly of 2019
Dallas was the epitome of what a Miami Hurricanes football player should be. He had a very good season in his only one as a starter. Dallas finished the 2019 season with 694 yards rushing, 14 receptions for 140 receiving and 10 total touchdowns. Sophomore Cam’Ron Harris is in line to replace Dallas in 2020.
There were a few of the Herald lists that the Miami Hurricanes were left off of.
▪ Smartest player personnel acquisitions, aside from the obvious one of the Heat landing Jimmy Butler:
The Miami football program for the poor personnel acquisitions of Enos and Kennedy did have some positive moves. Graduate transfer wide receiver K.J. Osborn from Buffalo led Miami receptions, receiving yards and receiving TDs. Graduate transfer Trevon Hill was a key part of the defensive line rotation.
After transferring from Virginia Tech Hill had 27 tackles and was fourth with both with 9.5 sacks, and 4.5 tackles for loss. Miami also added the nation’s former number one recruit, defensive lineman Jaelan Phillips who is expected to be a key part of the Hurricanes defense in 2020 and possibly beyond.
Zach Johnson was a key part of the Miami basketball team in 2018-19. The Hurricanes played mostly seven players and often six in their rotation. Johnson averaged 11.8 points per game, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in 2019-20. Freshman Harlond Beverly is showing promise in hoops this season.
