Cochran was contacted earlier in the week by Florida State and Georgia Tech. He would not enroll at his new school until the summer. That could play a factor with a new offensive coordinator and O-line coach the Miami football program might want to have transfer offensive linemen available for spring practice.

Davis had also been contacted by Miami this week as reported by Ivins. The former Maryland guard is another giant at 6’3 310 pounds. Davis only played in four games for the Terrapins in 2019 playing 199 snaps. He is regarded as a good pass blocking interior lineman which will be more important in Lashlee’s spread offense.

Cronk is another potential bookend left tackle that Miami desperately needs after Nelson struggled as a true freshman in 2019. The former Indiana tackle primarily protected the QB’s blindside on the left. Cronk is listed a 6’5 309 pounds. Cronk was a four-year starter at Indiana. He redshirted in 2019 after a season-ending leg injury.

Cronk has started 40 games in his career and was an ESPN true freshman All-American in 2016 with starts in all 13 of the Hoosiers game. The former Hoosier has been extremely steady and reliable allowing only 15 sacks in his Indiana career. Davis is the highest-ranked OL in the transfer portal yet to commit to another school.

One more name to watch could be 6’7, 310 pound Stanford offensive tackle Devery Hamilton. Hamilton played in 27 games for Stanford the last three seasons. Like Cronk, Hamilton went down with a season-ending injury in the Cardinal’s fourth game of 2019. The Maryland native might be looking to return to the east coast.
