The Miami football schedule in 2020 features only one bye, no games against teams that finished in the top 25 in 2019 and eight straight ACC games to finish the season.

After a disappointing 2019 season that featured five straight home games following two straight to begin the season away from South Florida, the Miami football team has a more traditional schedule in 2020. The Hurricanes begin the season at home against Temple which was already released. Miami hosts Wagner and UAB next.

A trip to Michigan State follows the three-game homestand to start the season. After beginning the 2019 season with games against Power Five opponents Florida and North Carolina, Miami can ease into the 2020 schedule more readily. That will give new quarterback D’Eriq King a chance to bond with his teammates.

The first three games will not be easy, however. Temple has had a winning record in eight of the 11 seasons, have made five straight bowl appearances and has become a coaching factory. Al Golden, Steve Addazio, Matt Rhule and Geoff Collins have parlayed their success with the Owls into Power Five heading coaching jobs.

It has been well documented with the Hurricanes that Manny Diaz returned to Coral Gables after an 18-day stint as the Temple Head Coach in December 2018. Add the addition of former Temple All-American defensive end, Quincy Roche, to the Miami football roster and it creates an intriguing matchup to start the 2020 football season.

Wagner should be another meaningless domination by Miami over an FCS program. The Seahawks finished 2019 1-11. After dropping their football program and then deciding to revive it, UAB has come back strong led by head coach Bill Clark. The Blazers are 28-13 over the last three seasons with bowl appearances each year.
