Following the visit, Williams flipped to the Hurricanes from Kentucky. Some fans have pointed to his flip following Williams’ decision to transfer. The addition of graduate transfer QB

D’Eriq King

from Houston to the Miami football roster was clearly the last straw in what has often been a rocky tenure for Williams with Miami.

From Williams’ perspective, King is the second the transfer QB the Hurricanes have added in as many seasons. Diaz and his staff rightfully sent out a message to the Miami QBs that he is clearly not happy with the lack of progress that they made this season. Williams is ready to move on.

Chatter is that the Williams family had been very vocal and the Hurricanes staff had enough with the complaints. Add in reports of too much partying, not getting along with former offensive coordinator and QB coach Dan Enos, walking out of practices and not showing up for meetings and maybe this is for the best.

On the field, Williams often showed promise. Naysayers point to the pair of three-interception games that Williams had against Virginia Tech and Florida International. He also set the ACC and Miami football program records with six TD passes against Louisville. It would have actually made sense for Williams to stick it out at Miami.
