Superbowl XIV is the shortest distance any team has ever played in a Super Bowl from their home stadium. No team has played a Super Bowl in their home stadium. The next Miami football alum on the offensive line to play in a Super Bowl is

Leon Searcy.

Searcy was the right tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers in Superbowl XXX.

The Steelers lost to the Dallas Cowboys 27-17. It was a rough day for the Steelers offensive line. Pittsburgh allowed four sacks and averaged just 3.32 yards per rush. With center anchored by Otto and the right side of the Miami Hurricanes Superbowl team compete, staffing the left side will be more difficult.

Orlando Frankin started 15 games for the Denver Broncos at right tackle in 2013. The Broncos lost Superbowl XLVIII 41-8 to the Seattle Seahawks. On the Hurricanes Superbowl offensive line, we need Franklin at left guard. Franklin started 16 games at left guard for Denver in 2014 before signing with the San Diego Chargers.

Franklin is the type of key player with versatility any good team needs. Although he did not start in the Superbowl at left guard, he started 42 games there over the following three seasons. Bryant McKinnie played in all16 games for the Baltimore Ravens without a start. McKinnie started all four playoff games in Baltimore’s title march.
