The Miami football program added length to their roster on Wednesday with the by signing four-star cornerback Isaiah Dunson to a National Letter of Intent. Dunson signed with the Hurricanes after previously being committed to Florida State.

The addition of four-star cornerback Isaiah Dunson to the Miami football roster adds length and depth to a strong group of defensive backs the Hurricanes have signed for 2020. Dunson joins three-star December signee Marcus Clarke as the only CBs Miami has signed for 2020. The Hurricanes added three safeties in December.

At 6’2, 180 pounds Dunson is the type of CB that head coach Manny Diaz and defensive coordinator Blake Baker like in their system. Dunson visited Coral Gables the weekend of January 17 and committed to CB coach Mike Rumph and the Hurricanes before jettisoning from South Florida.

Dunson is the 324th ranked player in the Class of 2020, the 21st ranked CB and 31st ranked player in Georgia. Dunson has the size and athleticism Miami needs in the ACC. According to Andrew Ivins of Inside the U, Dunson ran a 4.22 in the pro shuttle at the Atlanta event and added a 33.19 vertical jump.

Dunson was the first of a pair of four-star signings in the secondary on Wednesday. About three hours after Dunson signed, the number two safety in the Class of 2020, Avantae Williams of Deland, Florida shocked college football when he announced he was signing with the Hurricanes, not Florida.

In addition to Clarke, Dunson and Williams, Miami signed safeties, Brian Balom, Keshawn Washington and four-star Jalen Harrell. The trio of Dunson, Harrell and Williams are all four-star signees.

Manny Diaz, safeties coach and co-defensive coordinator Ephraim Banda and Rumph did an exceptional job adding depth and talent to the Miami secondary. Miami will be stocked on the back end defensively over the next three to four seasons. Rumph secured Dunson after he helped flip four-star CB Christian Williams in 2019.
