The Miami basketball team head to Virginia Tech on Wednesday night seeking their first three-game winning streak in the ACC since a four-game conference winning streak to conclude the 2017-18 season culminated with a win in Blacksburg.

After a season-long epidemic of injuries, the Miami basketball team is healthy and playing their best basketball of the season. The Hurricanes head to Virginia Tech on Wednesday night for an ACC after dark showdown with the Hokies. Miami has won its last two games against Boston College and Wake Forest by a combined 44 points.

Virginia Tech enters the game on Wednesday night after ending a five-game losing steak over the weekend. The Hokies defeated Pittsburgh 67-57 at Cassell Coliseum on Saturday. Miami defeated Virginia Tech 71-61 in Coral Gables earlier this season. The Hurricanes and Hokies matchup up well with both teams perimeter-oriented.

Miami was able to defeat Virginia Tech last month in Coral Gables despite Chris Lykes’ absence with a groin injury and Kam McGusty being limited to three points in 22 mintues because of back spasms. Senior Dejan Vasiljevic had one of his best ACC performances this season in the last meeting with 18 points.

Vasiljevic was one of four Miami players in double figures in the victory over Virginia Tech in January. Miami did a good job on the Hokies defensively the last time out. Virginia Tech shot 40.7 percent from the floor and made 8-22 three-point attempts. The Hokies are currently 60th in the country in three-point percentage.
