Corey Gaynor was the anchor of the Miami offensive line in 2019 and he returns for his redshirt junior season in 2020. Miami returns its entire offensive line. That could be good or bad depending on how much they improve this season. Navaughn Donaldson is the only senior offensive lineman for Miami in 2020.

There has been some suggestion that Clark is better suited to center and could move inside with Gaynor moving to guard. Gaynor started four games at guard as a true freshman in 2017. He redshirted after playing for games in 2018. New OL coach Garin Justice will likely take a look at that in Spring Practice 2020.

The linebackers on the Miami football roster have a huge opportunity this spring after the graduations of four-year starters Shaq Quarterman and Michael Pinckney. After redshirting in 2019, Zach McCloud is locked into one of the starting positions at linebacker. The position next to McCloud is wide open.

Sam Brooks who is entering his true sophomore season is expected to be the leader entering the spring for the second starting position at linebacker. Brooks had 18 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss in 2019. He started in the Independence Bowl against Louisiana Tech and recorded 12 tackles and a half TFL.
