Four-star 2021 Miami football commits, defensive tackle Savion Collins and offensive guard Laurence Seymore have received invitations to the Under Armour All-American game next season following their performance at the UA camp in Miami this weekend.
Several media outlets are reporting that four-star 2021 Miami football commits, defensive tackle Savion Collins and offensive guard Laurence Seymore have been selected to participate in the Under Armour high school All-American game next year. Both players could be teetering on flipping to other programs.
Despite being a Miami football commit, the two crystal balls for Collins on 247Sports.Com both project the 6’4, 290-pound defensive tackle to commit to Florida. Seymore is a stronger commitment to the Hurricanes but is expected to visit Florida State and Georgia also holds interest.
The 2021 Miami recruiting class dropped from fifth to sixth over the weekend after North Carolina added a few high profile recruits. The great start and subsequent drop have been the far too frequent story with the Hurricanes signing classes over the last few cycles. Collins and Seymore are both top 300 players in 2021.
Collins is the 292nd ranked player overall, the 19th ranked DT and 43rd ranked player in Florida in the Class of 2021. Seymore is the 252nd ranked player, the 15th ranked guard and 36th ranked player in Florida for 2021. The Hurricanes are attempting to rebuild the offensive line and will need the depth on the defensive line in 2021.
Miami will have redshirt freshmen Jalar Holley and Jared Harrison-Hunte along with redshirt sophomore Jason Miller at DT in 2020 behind senior Jon Ford and junior Nesta Silvera. Adding depth to the interior of the Hurricanes defensive line is critical in the 2021 recruiting class. Holding on to Collins would be a huge coup.
Seymore is one of two offensive linemen committed to the Miami football program for 2021. Four-star offensive tackle Michael McLaughlin committed last week. Miami is expected to receive a commitment soon from Ryan Rodriguez, the 10th ranked center in the Class of 2021.
