Miami football legend Michael Irvin posted a pair of videos via Twitter spending time this his granddaughter. With all sports being put in indefinite hiatus because of the COVID-19 coronavirus the connection is something we all currently need.

Michael Irvin is one of the biggest personalities in the history of the Miami Hurricanes. Irvin was ostensibly the creator of swag as the Miami football program rose to become one of the elite in college football in the 1980s following their 1983 National Championship. Irvin continues to be in the public eye in retirement.

Thirty-three years after finishing his playing career at Miami from 1985-87 Irvin still holds the school career touchdown record with 26. In addition to being an analyst on the NFL Network, Irvin still has a presence with the Miami football program. He is a frequent guest on local media and often a spokesperson on the Hurricanes.

The life Irvin currently has allows him plenty of time to be able to do what he wants. Irvin has posted pictures of his family in the past. His son, Michael II just entered his name into the transfer portal after spending four seasons as a tight end in the Miami football program. A decision could be on hold for now.

The spread of the COVID-19/coronavirus has halted recruiting indefinitely. No announcement has been made by the NCAA in regards to transfer visiting schools but the likelihood is that will not take place until the country can return to normal. In the meantime. Irvin has shown a side of himself we do not often see.

Irvin was an intense, but fun-loving player on the field. His lighter side shone through with his granddaughter Carmen. They had fun while Irvin is seen swinging her on the above video he posted to Twitter. Papa was definitely having fun with his little girl. Irvin clearly wore her out after they spent the day playing together.

Irvin accomplished a lot as a football player. He won a national championship with Miami in 1987, three Superbowls with the Dallas Cowboys and is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Seeing him enjoy the time with Carmen and that this is currently his favorite time in life is heartwarming.

Athletes are often judged solely by their accomplishments on the field. Social media has granted direct access for fans to connect with players. It gives us a much deeper view of their lives if they so choose. We are able to see them more as people than just players on the field giving up their bodies for our enjoyment.
