Four-star wide receiver Marcus Burke named the Miami football program as one of his top five destinations for college. The Hurricanes are going to have a tough time signing Burke over Florida who is the favorite and Georgia who also made the top five.

Four-star wide receiver Marcus Burke from Jacksonville, Florida Trinity Christian has named the Miami football program with Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Penn State as the top five schools vying to sign him as part of the 2021 class. Florida is the favorite with Georgia listed as warm according to 247Sports.Com.

Burke is the 301st ranked player in the country, the 52nd ranked WR and the 46th ranked player in Florida in the Class of 2021. Miami has yet to receive a commitment from a WR for 2021. Andrew Ivins of Inside the U reported that Burke told them a few weeks ago he was planning to visit Miami during spring practice.

With spring practice canceled and recruiting visits on indefinite hiatus as the country deals with the Coronavirus it will be difficult to determine if or when Burke will be able to make a trip to Coral Gables. The only senior WR on the Miami football roster entering 2019 is Mike Harley. Miami will still need to sign a WR for 2021.

The Hurricanes signed four WRs in the 2020 class. Four-stars Michael Redding III and Dazalin Worsham and three-star wideouts, Keyshawn Smith and Xavier Restrepo were all early enrollees in January in the Class of 2020. Redshirt freshman Jeremiah Payton will also be playing in his first full season of college football in 2020.

The 2021 Miami recruiting class currently ranks sixth in the nation with 10 commits, all from South Florida. Four-star running back Thad Franklin is the highest-ranked 2021 commit to Miami. Three local WRs bear watching as possible commits to Miami for 2021. All three are listed as warm to the Hurricanes by 247Sports.
