Michigan State is just 27-24 from 2016-19, but playing against two Power Five schools in non-conference in the same season is a big challenge for any college football program. With games against the Mountaineers, Spartans and Blue Devils all at Hard Rock Stadium, Miami has three non-conference home games in 2021.
According to FBSchedules.Com, Miami will pay CCSU $650,000 for the game scheduled on September 24, 2021, at Hard Rock Stadium. Central Connecticut State is entering its second season under head coach Ryan McCarthy. McCarthy was previously the Blue Devils offensive coordinator from 2015-18.
The 2021 Miami football schedule will feature seven games at Hard Rock Stadium, four on the road and the neutral site game versus Alabama at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta in front of a partisan Crimson Tide crowd. Miami hosts Georgia Tech, North Carolina State, Virginia Tech and Virginia in the ACC.
The 2021 ACC road games for Miami are against Florida State, North Carolina, Pittsburgh and Duke. In addition to Wagner, the 2020 Miami non-conference schedule is Temple and UAB at home on September 5 and 17 and at Michigan State September 26. The ACC crossover game besides FSU is at Wake Forest.
