Offensive line improvements

In addition to Lashlee replacing Enos, Manny Diaz hired Garin Justice to replace Butch Barry as the offensive line coach. Justice has far more experience working with offensive linemen in the spread than Barry did. Justice has also been a Division II head coach and was the offensive coordinator at UNLV in 2019.

It has been well documented how poor the offensive line for the Miami football team was in 2019. It is time to look forward. The good and bad news is everyone returns. Justice lost the time he would have had to work with the Hurricanes offensive linemen during spring practice. The players will also lose time in the weight room.

Strength and Conditioning coordinator David Feeley has done an exceptional job working with the Miami football players since he was hired in January 2019. Rising sophomore offensive tackle Zion Nelson had a dramatic improvement from when he arrived on campus in January 2019 to become a starter as a freshman last fall.

It will be up to the players now to workout on their own throughout the spring and summer. The Lashlee offense will be beneficial to the offensive line. The uptempo will tire out opposing defensive lines and the spread should also help. Whenever Miami commences training camp the OL will have a lot of catching up to do.
