Miami would have the advantage on the defensive side of the ball. The Hurricanes finished 23rd in scoring defense in 2019 allowing 20.2 PPG. Indiana was 45th allowing 24.4 PPG. Miami was 13th in total defense allowing 309.8 yards per game in 2019, while Indiana was 36th allowing 352.2 total yards on defense.

King having a big game for the Hurricanes would not be a surprise. Signing King as a transfer from Houston provides Miami with a huge upgrade at QB for the 2020 season. King will provide Miami with big-play ability in the passing and running game. He was a big game player during his career with Houston.

"(10) Miami 21, (2) Wisconsin 17: No defense in the country can match Miami’s production at defensive end, and the trio of Greg Rousseau, Quincy Roche and Jaelan Phillips makes life miserable for Wisconsin quarterback Graham Mertz and sacks him seven times in a second straight upset win for the Hurricanes."

Miami had nine sacks against a porous Florida State offensive line in 2019. Getting seven against a Wisconsin offensive line that allowed only 20 during the 2019 season is impressive. Mertz replaced senior Jack Coan who started for Wisconsin when Miami lost 35-3 against Wisconsin in the 2018 Pinstripe Bowl.
