With King at quarterback, the team records for the Miami passing offense and receiving records are likely to be challenged in 2020. It is a big reach, but expect either tight end

Brevin Jordan

or wide receiver

Mike Harley

to have a monster season in receptions and get close to the record for receptions for a season and career.

The all-time record for career receptions at Miami is Reggie Wayne with 173. Harley enters the season with 68 and Jordan with 67. While it might seem to be a reach, it’s possible in the Lashlee offense for one receiver to post triple figures in receptions.

James Proche playing in Lashlee’s offense for SMU in 2019 tied for the national lead with 111 receptions. If either Harley or Jordan top triple digits in receptions in 2020 they will challenge Wayne’s Miami career record that has stood for 20 years. Jordan also has a chance to set several long-standing program records at TE.

Willie Smith set the Miami single-season record for a TE with 852 yards in 1984. Smith held the Miami single-season record for receptions from 1984-2010 with 66 until that was broken by Leonard Hankerson. Smith also set the Miami single-game record with 12 receptions against Maryland in 1984.
