Four-star wide receiver Jacolby George who was de-committed from the Miami football program in November named the Hurricanes as one of his top six schools in a tweet posted on Saturday.

Four-star wide receiver Jacolby George named the Miami football program as one of his half dozen top schools in a tweet posted on Saturday. The top six for George listed in the order he has on twitter from left to right are Pittsburgh, Miami, Georgia Tech, West Virginia Penn State and UCF.

George was committed to Miami from February through November 2019. Four-star WR Romello Brinson and George de-committed from Miami the day after the Hurricanes lost to FIU in November. Brinson is still considering Miami with Georgia, LSU and Texas A&M. Brinson will be a tough sell at this point.

At 5.10.5, 155 pounds, George seems destined for the slot. George is the 220th ranked player overall, the 39th ranked WR and 28th ranked player in Florida for 2021. Brinson is 138th player overall, 24th WR and 19th in Florida for 2021. Miami currently has the fifth-ranked recruiting class in the country for 2021.

The Hurricanes currently have 10 players committed to them for 2021. None of those players are WRs. Four-star running back Thad Franklin, the top-ranked player committed to Miami for 2021 and three-star tight end Khalil Brantley are the only skill position players on offense in the next recruiting cycle.

Mike Harley is the only senior WR for Miami entering the 2020 season. Dee Wiggins and Mark Pope are the only juniors. Miami signed four WRs in the 2020 class and has Jeremiah Payton ready after redshirting as a true freshman in 2019. With the new spread offense under Rhett Lashlee Miami needs more WRs.

George is one of 38 WRs the Miami football program has offered a scholarship to in the 2021 recruiting class. Twenty-five of those recruits are four-star and 20 are ranked ahead of George. Landing him would still be a big commitment for the Hurricanes with Harley the likely starter in the slot graduating after the 2020 season.
