Miami football non-conference schedule gets tougher beginning in 2021

The only meeting between Miami and Appalachian State came during the first year under

. The Hurricanes traveled to Boone, North Carolina and crushed the Mountaineers 45-10.

had an 80-yard TD run on Miami’s first play from scrimmage and the Hurricanes were never challenged.

Miami has won all four games against Michigan State. The games have been close with the Hurricanes outscoring the Spartans 90-62 or an average margin of victory of seven points per game. The last time Miami and Michigan State played the Hurricanes won 26-20 in East Lansing defeating MSU QB Dan Enos.

Miami will host Central Connecticut State when the teams play for the first time to conclude the Hurricanes non-conference schedule in 2021. The Blue Devils are a good FCS opponent after finishing 11-2 in 2019 and advancing to the playoffs.

Two non-conference opponents will have to be added for the 2022 Miami football season. Miami currently has games scheduled at home against Southern Mississippi September 10 which will be the second week of the season and travels to Texas A&M September 17. The Hurricanes and Eagles will be meeting for the first time.
