The other non-conference games for the Hurricanes in 2023 are the season opener against Miami (Ohio) and the return game at Temple September 23. Expect Manny Diaz if he is still the Hurricanes head coach to get roundly booed in that game. Philadelphia fans are not known to be welcoming.
The Hurricanes defeated the then Miami Redskins 54-3 in their only previous meeting in 1987. Jimmy Johnson’s only national championship would occur later that season in the Orange Bowl. The Hurricanes have defeated Temple all 13 times they have played with an average margin of 34 points.
2024

09/07 – Florida A&M
09/14 – Ball State
TBA – at Notre Dame
The 2024 non-conference schedule features a pair of tough road games against two bitter rivals and home games Miami will be expected to dominate. Miami will begin the 2024 season in the swamp against Florida. The Hurricanes lead the all-time series with Florida 29-27 and are a surprising 12-9 against the Gators in Gainesville.
