Zach Feagles is now at Rutgers where he will compete to be the Punter in 2020 after sitting out in 2019. Feagles grew up about in Ridgewood, New Jersey about 50 miles from the Rutgers Campus. Weldon redshirted with Miami in 2017 before playing in two games in 2018. He was 2-3 for 14 yards and ran twice for five yards.
Feagles was a disappointment for Miami. With N’Kosi Perry also signed at QB in 2017 and Jarren Williams the 2018 class, Weldon was not expected to be more than a backup for Miami. Weldon moved on to FCS East Tennessee State where he did not receive any playing time in 2019 despite being immediately eligible.

With Weldon moving on Miami has added four QBs since his departure. Tate Martell and D’Eriq King signed with Miami through the transfer portal, Peyton Matocha redshirted as a true freshman in 2018 and will likely be a career backup and Tyler Van Dyke is a true freshman in 2020 expected to be the QB of the future.
In two seasons with Miami Smith was known for his hard-hitting. As a backup safety and striker Smith recorded 24 tackles and 1.5 TFLs. Smith is now at Illinois where he has been moved to linebacker. At the conclusion of the 2019 season, Miami lost backup tight end Brian Polendey and offensive lineman Zach Dykstra.
Dykstra and Polendey deciding to move on were not impactful losses for Miami. Dykstra was buried on the Miami depth chart. Originally signed as a three-star tackle out of Iowa, Dykstra made his only appearance with the Hurricanes in a 2018 game against Savannah State after redshirting as a freshman.
