New Miami Hurricanes offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee posted an epic TikTok video with his family with spring practice and the rest of collegiate sports canceled at least through June.
In a video posted to the social networking video app TikTok, Miami Hurricanes offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee with his wife and four children danced to an epically choreographed video behind Crank That, from Souja Boy. The video begins with Lashlee, his wife and their older twin sons in a quad formation.
Lashlee’s wife Lauren is in the front of the formation with twin boys Thomas and Hudson flanked out wide and Lashlee as the old quarterback behind them. Even in quarantine, Lashlee cannot help drawing up plays.
It is unknown if Rhett choreographed the video, Lauren did or it was a team effort that possibly included their children. Miami fan Pearlsbeforepigs on Reddit gave an epic description of the video and how it can relate to football.
"“Simple formations. Backfield wasn’t heavily involved. If our receivers can learn the routes we’ll be in good shape next season.”"
"Something to make you smile today: Rhett Lashlee and his family have now moved into their Miami home, and filmed their first Tik Tok to commemorate it from r/MiamiHurricanes"
The video begins with Rhett, Lauren, Hudson and Thomas flashing the U. The four dance for a few seconds, Rhett goes to the front and gives a virtual Superman-style rip to his chest before flashing the U and faux diving to the right. Rhett’s move is followed by Lauren doing the same to the left and Thomas and Hudson alternating.
The video ends with twin daughters Rowyn and Scarlet dressed as Miami Hurricanes cheerleaders running to the front of the video. Lashlee created a fun video to get fans and potential recruits involved and excited while showing an awareness of the latest trends by posting to TikTok.
The addition of Lashlee to the Miami coaching staff brings youthful exuberance. Lashlee is only 37 years old. Lashlee’s predecessor Dan Enos is 51. Having an awareness of current trends and utilizing them will help Miami in recruiting. Recruits and athletic departments are utilizing social media to increase their presence.
Some recruits thousands of followers while still in high school and most coaches from Power Five schools like Miami have followers in the tens of thousands. Lashlee has 46,400 followers on Twitter. He only has 101 on the growing TikTok with the dance being the first video he has posted there.
