The Miami football program was named as one of the top seven teams for four-star athlete Janzten Dunn. Dunn is a Hurricanes legacy whose father Mitchell played basketball at Miami during the 1994-95 season.

Four-star athlete Jantzen Dunn named the Miami football program one of his top seven in a tweet posted on Saturday. Dunn is the son of former Miami basketball player Mitchell Dunn and is the 318th ranked player, 22nd ranked athlete and third-ranked player in Kentucky in the Class of 2021.

Dunn is expected to take official visits with Louisville and Oklahoma but has already visited Miami according to Andrew Ivins of Inside the U. The parent site of Inside the U, 247 sports projects Dunn as a safety or cornerback in college even though he plays wide receiver for South Warren High School in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Three-star CB Tim Burns is the only defensive back currently committed to Miami for 2021. Miami signed four safeties and two CBs in the 2020 class. Safety Amari Carter is the only senior in the Miami secondary entering the 2020 season. The potential is there for Gurvan Hall or Bubba Bolden to enter the NFL Draft.

Dunn is projected as a starter by 247Sports at a Power Five school with the potential to develop into an NFL Draft pick. Dunn is praised for being a high-level athlete in track and field with combine elitism. Excellent change of direction and very good speed are also mentioned in Dunn’s scouting report.

The ability for Dunn to close on a play quickly and his ability to move downhill at safety seem to have him projected there more than CB in college. Miami is named on the top seven for Dunn with Ohio State, Louisville, Oklahoma, Tennessee, USC and Georgia Tech. The only two crystal balls are in favor of Ohio State.

In spite of the Buckeyes being the present favorite to sign Dunn, he told Steve Wiltfong of 247 per Ivins that Oklahoma and Louisville will receive official visits. Louisville is less than a two-hour drive from Bowling Green, while Columbus is slightly less than five hours. Proximity could give the Cardinals and Buckeyes an advantage.
