Here we go again. Another best of all-time college football bracket and the 2001 Miami football team is not the top seed in the Yahoo bracket. Putting the Hurricanes below the top seed seems to be conducted to create debate.

With the NCAA Tournament canceled earlier this month, the United States had become bracket crazy. The best pop songs per decade to the best players, teams and recruits in sports have a bracket. Somehow in their bracket of the best teams in college football history, the 2001 Miami football team is Yahoo’s two seed.

This might be why if there was a bracket for search engines, Yahoo would be the three seed far behind Google and then Bing. The debate over the best team in college football needs to be put to rest until a team develops as much talent and dominates on the field as much as the 2001 Miami football team did.

The 2001 Miami football team received the second overall seed in the all-time best bracket according to Yahoo Sports. The 1987 National Championship Miami football team is also on the bracket as the eighth seed against 1971 Nebraska. One thing we have learned is that when the game matters Miami almost always defeats Nebraska.

Miami won National Championships by defeating Nebraska in the1984 and 1992 Orange Bowls to win the 1983 and 1991 National Championships and the 2002 Rose Bowl to win the 2001 National Championship. Nebraska defeated Miami in the 1995 Orange Bowl to win their first National Title under Tom Osborn in the 1994 season.

Miami has won five National Championships with three of those five titles won under three different coaches against Nebraska in two different bowl games. In the six bowl games Miami and Nebraska have played in, the Hurricanes own a 62 point margin. Miami has the edge on defense and Nebraska has the edge offensively.
