The spring game for the Miami football team would have been played on Saturday at Traz Powell Stadium. The 11 lost spring practices and scrimmage in front of the public have fans and media wondering what could have occurred in the spring game.

The spring game for the Miami football program was scheduled for Saturday at Traz Powell Stadium. Sunday will be a month since all college sports were called off for the remainder of the academic year. The loss of the spring game creates a lot of questions that would have been answered.

The Hurricanes have made drastic changes on offense since the end of the 2019 season. Head coach Manny Diaz hired new offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee, offensive line coach Garin Justice and wide receivers coach Rob Likens. The addition of quarterback D’Eriq King as a transfer completed the transformation.

Two of the biggest questions for the Miami football team during the spring game would have been how would the Hurricanes offense performed and more specifically how would King have looked working with his new teammates in the Lashlee offense. King building a rapport with his wide receivers this spring was important.

King seems to be the perfect fit for the new Miami offense under Lashlee. Lashlee brings an uptempo, spread offense to Miami that has not been seen before. Watching the speed at which Miami offense would have run would have been a big part of the spring game. King was brought in to run the new Miami offense.

Miami will run far more plays per game with the Lashlee offense then they ever have before. The system relies more on tempo than a large playbook. At the end of games, the Hurricanes will have a huge advantage in conditioning. With opposing defenses growing tired the Miami offense should thrive late in games.
