Devastating Pass Rush

King is just one of three elite transfers added to the Miami football roster during the 2020 offseason. The addition of defensive end Quincy Roche to join rising redshirt sophomore Greg Rousseau and rising redshirt junior Jaelan Phillips should provide the Hurricanes with the best pass rush in the country in 2020.

Seeing Phillps, Roche and Rousseau together for the first time in the football field this spring would have been one of the most anticipated parts of the spring game. Rousseau leads all returnees in college football for the 2020 season with 15.5 sacks in 2019. Roche was recently named the best edge defender by ESPN.

Phillips was the top player in the country in the Class of 2017 when he signed with UCLA. The ability for the Miami defense to have three players as talented as Phillips, Roche and Rousseau is going to give opposing offensive coordinators very tough decisions on who to block. The Miami pass rush should be constant in 2020.

Miami finished seventh in the country in 2019 with 46 sacks. The addition of Phillips from a redshirt and Roche to the rotation at defensive end with Rousseau should provide Miami with a chance to challenge the all-time program record of 52 sacks in a season set in 1989. Watching those three together will be exciting.
