Miami Hurricanes wide receiver K.J. Osborn who led the team in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns in 2019 has the NFL Draft sound effect as his ring tone.

Miami Hurricanes wide receiver K.J. Osborn has the NFL Draft sound effect as his ringtone as told to Susan Miller Degnan of the Miami Herald on Friday. Osborne led Miami in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns in 2019. After a strong performance at the NFL Combine, Osborn is expected to drafted on day three.

The NFL Draft will be held from April 23-25 out of ESPN’s Bristol, Connecticut headquarters. Initially scheduled to be held in Las Vegas, everything was scaled back due to the Covid19/Coronavirus. Osborn told Canes Warning via Twitter “And I let it ring all day, even through groupchats.”

Osborne is a versatile receiver who is equally adept at making tough catches or being a big-play receiver. The ability Osborn has to help an NFL team as a kickoff or punt returner will also help his chances of playing at the next level. Osborn averaged 19.6 yards per kickoff return and 12.1 yards per punt return in college.

The former Buffalo Bull and Miami Hurricanes wide receiver spoke to Miller Degnan about his ringtone and outlook for the NFL Draft. Osborn told the Herald as he Tweeted at CanesWarning early on Friday night that he keeps his phone on during group texts even when other people turn the sound down.

"“It’s the tune they play when someone gets picked in the NFL Draft…It goes like ‘doo-doo-doo dooo-dooo doo-doo.’ It never gets old. You know how people silence their phones during long group texts? I don’t because I love hearing it.”"

In addition to leading the Miami Hurricanes with 50 receptions for 547 receiving yards and five receiving TDs, he also led Miami with 225 punt-return yards and 1,018 all-purpose yards. Osborn told Miller-Degnan he will be home with his mom and sister in Ypsilanti, Michigan to watch the NFL Draft and Zoom with other relatives.

"“With this virus thing, we’re looking at Zoom options. Some of my family can’t be physically with me, but they’ll be able to see my reaction live. Thinking about it now I get chills.’’"

After playing primarily in the slot at Buffalo, Osborn was used more often as an outside receiver with Mike Harley or Jeff Thomas in the slot for the Hurricanes. NFL.Com analyst Lance Zierlein reiterated that the versatility and performance on special teams that Osborne will provide at the NFL level serve him well.

Note: 2010 was the clip available for the sound effect

"Osborn played mostly from the slot at Buffalo and mostly outside at Miami, but Buffalo likely had it right. His size, quickness and speed fail to stand out and he’s not fully equipped to get away from tight man on the pro level. From the slot, his instincts in space and overall toughness could serve him well, but are still garden variety at best. However, Osborn has been a consistently productive punt returner for three seasons and is able to cover kicks and punts if asked. The special teams work gives him a shot if he can be functional as a backup receiver."

Osborn immediately joined the Miami football team in January 2019 and made an impact as a leader in the wide receiver room. The Hurricanes coaching staff praised him for his work ethic and elevating his teammates. Osborn was the sole senior WR receiver Miami had in 2019. His leadership skills will also be an asset in the NFL.
