Get a Miami Hurricanes fix with takeover on ACC Network Sunday
The men’s basketball team gets its moment in the spotlight and not when everyone is just waking up. Miami
defeated number one Duke 90-63
at the Watsco Center during their dream season when the Hurricanes won the ACC regular season and conference tournaments. That season ended with a run to the Sweet 16.
The victory over Duke is followed by what is likely the biggest win in school history. Miami won the ACC Tournament with an 87-77 victory over North Carolina. The Hurricanes won each of their ACC Tournament games by at least 10 points on their way to the title. Miami has not been to the title game since.
The football team returns in prime time with a game that does not need an explanation. The 2001 season culminated with Miami being crowned the greatest team in college football history after a 37-14 victory over Nebraska in the Rose Bowl. The Hurricanes and Cornhuskers will air from 7-9 PM.
The final game of the Miami Hurricanes take over is against Florida State from 2002. Kickoff between the Hurricanes and Seminoles is at 9 PM and the airing will conclude at midnight. The Hurricanes won 28-27 at the Orange Bowl after the Seminoles missed a field goal wide left on the last play of the game.
