The commitment of three-star defensive tackle Allan Haye to the Miami Hurricanes adds depth to a defensive line that desperately needs it in the Class of 2021.

After not signing any defensive tackles in the Category 20 Class, the Miami Hurricanes received a commitment from 2021 DT Allan Haye on Wednesday morning. Miami does have rising redshirt freshmen Jalar Holley and Jared Harrison Hunte entering the 2020 football season. Haye is the second DT in the 2021 Class.

Current 2021 Miami Hurricanes four-star DT commit Savion Collins is eventually expected to flip to Florida. Miami needs DTs for the future. The Hurricanes projected starting tackles in 2020 are senior Jon Ford and junior Nesta Silvera. Behind them are Holley, Harrison-Hunte and rising redshirt sophomore Jason Miller.

Haye announced his commitment to the Miami football program on Wednesday morning via Twitter. The future Hurricane defensive tackle thanked head coach Manny Diaz and several of the Miami coaches. Haye projects as a good addition to the Miami roster with the potential to develop into a solid rotational player.

Haye signs with Miami with only one year of football experience. At 6’1, 296 pounds he has excellent size for a DT. Haye is the third commitment out of 14 in the 2021 Miami recruiting class from Chaminade-Madonna in Hollywood. Haye joins teammates four-star running back Thad Franklin and kicker Andres Borregales.

Haye commits to Miami with offers from more than a dozen other schools. Miami’s ACC Coastal Division rivals Duke and Georgia Tech and ACC Atlantic schools Louisville and Wake Forest are among the other schools that offered Haye a scholarship. Haye had 68 tackles, eight tackles for loss and six sacks in 2019.

Haye is currently the 800th ranked player, the 43rd ranked DT and the 113th ranked player in Florida in 2021. The commitment by Haye to Miami moves the Hurricanes up to the eighth-ranked class in the nation for 2021 and third in the ACC behind Clemson and North Carolina. Miami has offered six uncommitted DTs for 2021.
