Ryan Rodriguez the nation’s sixth-ranked center in the Class of 2021 announced his commitment to the Miami football program on Monday. Rodriguez is the third offensive lineman to commit to the Hurricanes for 2021.

The Miami football program added an anchor for their offensive line of the future when the nation’s sixth-ranked center, in the Class of 2021, Ryan Rodriguez announced his commitment to the Hurricanes on Monday night. Rodriguez is the third offensive lineman committed to Miami.

The 247 Sports composite has Rodriguez as the sixth-ranked center, 538th ranked player overall and the 75th ranked player in Florida for 2021. Rodriguez joins four-star offensive linemen, guard Laurence Seymore and tackle Michael McLaughlin on the offensive line in the 2021 Miami recruiting class.

Rodriguez is 6’3 280 pounds. Miami was able to secure the commitment from Rodriguez after he visited Miami in early March during the one week of spring practice before the NCAA shut down all athletic activities for the remainder of the academic year. Miami gained a huge advantage with its proximity to Rodriguez.

Rodriguez had planned to take visits to Louisville, LSU and Wake Forest before they were canceled and he decided to commit to Miami on Monday night. Rodriguez is the third commitment the Miami football program has received in the last week. Three-star defensive tackle Alan Haye and three-star athlete Malik Curtis were the others.

The commitment of Rodriguez to the 2021 Miami recruiting class gives the Hurricanes the top two offensive linemen from Miami-Dade county for 2021 and three of the top four OL in South Florida. Offensive line coach Garin Justice who was hired in January is quickly making an impact on the recruiting trail.

Rodriguez has shown his versatility and athleticism as a left tackle for Miami Columbus High School who won the 8A state championship in 2020. Rodriguez could play guard early in his Miami career. Current Hurricanes center Corey Gaynor has two years of eligibility remaining. Gaynor’s backup, Jakai Clark has three.
