Miami football offensive line coach Garin Justice called out someone who was impersonating him on Twitter earlier this month.

Miami football Offensive line coach Garin Justice warned recruits earlier this month to watch out for scam artists trying to solicit money. Someone posing as @CoachGJustice on Twitter apparently asked for money to have a recruit’s film evaluated.

Justice posted the Tweet on April 18 and the imposter account has since been deleted. Justice was hired to be the offensive line coach for the Miami football program in January to replace the dismissed Butch Barry.

Before coming to Miami Justice was previously the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at UNLV and a Division II head coach at Concord where he had a 40-17 record from 2011-15. Justice has come in and made an immediate impact for Miami in recruiting.

Four-star tackle Michael McLaughlin and three-star center Ryan Rodriguez have committed to Miami since Justice was hired. Miami continues to hold on to four-star offensive guard Laurence Seymore who has been committed to Miami since March 2018.

The possible recruit in question who might have been solicited for money in exchange for the highlight videos from the player was not mentioned. Justice’s newest boss, offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee credited Justice for being a big-time offensive line coach for having someone posing as him on Twitter.

Justice has a big job ahead of him this fall to improve a Miami offensive line that was porous in 2019. Miami finished 128th out of 130 teams in FBS last season allowing 51 sacks. UNLV was 86th nationally allowing 29 sacks. Miami returns everyone on the offensive line for 2020. The Hurricanes signed two linemen in 2020.

Four-star offensive tackle Jalen Rivers is likely to push for playing time at tackle or guard. Three-star offensive tackle Chris Washington is more of a project who is likely to redshirt in 2020. In four practices Miami held this spring, Justice experimented with moving some of the OL around. It will continue to be a process for 2020.
