Miami Hurricanes DC Blake Baker continually sends players to NFL

The production

Butler

had after being coached by Baker led to him being taken 30th overall in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. Butler started nine games for the Panthers in 2019 before signing with the Buffalo Bills in the offseason. Baker would continue to send players to the NFL.

Safety Xavier Woods was a sixth-round draft pick by the Dallas Cowboys in 2017. Woods played in all 16 games for Dallas as a rookie starting four. In the past two seasons, Woods has started all 29 games he has played for the Cowboys. In three seasons in the NFL, Woods has 175 tackles and five interceptions.

As a senior in 2016 with Louisiana Tech, Woods had 84 tackles, 6.5 TFLs, three sacks, five interceptions and six pass breakups. After missing on defensive player developing into an NFL Draft pick in 2018 Baker saw his biggest star in four seasons as the Louisiana Tech defensive coordinator be drafted in 2019.

Defensive end Jaylan Ferguson was unstoppable for Louisiana Tech. Ferguson set the Bulldogs career record with 45 sacks and has the two best single-season sack totals in Louisiana Tech history with 14.5 as a sophomore in 2016 and 17.5 as a senior in 2018. Ferguson also left Ruston with 187 tackles and 67.5 TFLs.
