The addition of four-star offensive tackle Issiah Walker after one semester at Florida boosts the Miami football program, 2020 freshman class, to 11th nationally.

Four-star 2020 offensive tackle Issiah Walker who enrolled at Florida in January is returning home to play for the Miami football program. Walker graduated from Norland High School in Miami. The addition of Walker to the 2020 freshman class boosts the Hurricanes from 13th to 11th nationally passing Oregon and Oklahoma.

Walker joins four-star freshman offensive tackle Jalen Rivers and three-star OT Chris Washington as OL in the Hurricanes Class of 2020. Miami’s cumulative score for the 2020 signing class is 261.29. Tennessee finished 10th in the 2020 signing class with a score of 261.5. Manny Diaz and his staff should be lauded.

Walker and Rivers should be the future as the bookend tackles for Miami. Walker is projected more as a left tackle with Rivers on the right side. Either Rivers, Walker, or both could begin their careers at guard for Miami in 2020. That would likely mean rising junior D.J. Scaife starts at one of the tackles positions in 2020.

Walker will likely have to petition the NCAA to be eligible in 2020 after matriculating for one semester in Gainesville. With or without a waiver, Walker will have four seasons of eligibility at Miami beginning in either 2020 or 2021. Walker was the 156th ranked player, the 15th ranked OT and 24th ranked player in Florida for 2020.

The addition of Walker upgrades the Miami football roster to an average of 3.53 stars an 89.67 rating and the 30.87 ranked player at their position by recruiting class per player. Talentwise, the Hurricanes are very competitive with the rest of the ACC. The average rating of a player on Miami’s 2019 roster was 88.26.

The Hurricanes have upgraded the talent level on the roster since the end of the 2019 season. Walker should challenge to be a starter this fall if he gains eligibility. The Miami offensive line started three-star true freshmen Zion Nelson and Jakai Clark in 2019. With everyone back, plus additions their starting spots are in serious jeopardy.
