Coaches work long hours, especially during the season. Banda told Rose and Krantz that adapting to working at home has been a revelation. According to Banda, the Miami coaches have learned they can do a lot more from home than they thought they could with being home during a pandemic.

The Miami pass rush is expected to be the best in the country this season led by Rousseau, Roche Phillips. Banda stated he is impressed by how hard the trio and rising redshirt freshmen Jahafari Harvey and Cam(eron) Williams have worked.

Banda stated he is impressed with how competitive they are but that they have to go out and prove the hype that has been bestowed upon them during the offseason. Miami had to maintain the standard of the defense and go out and do it as a group in 2020. Banda said its maybe the most talented defense they have had as a group.

Miami was aggressive signing defensive backs in the 2020 class. Banda stated that they were looking for bodies to stack up on and that the Hurricanes were looking for taking on as many safeties and cornerbacks as they could find in the Class of 2020. Miami signed four safeties and two CBs in 2020.

Banda stated by the end of last year they were looking for bodies to get in the game, partially because of the rule changes involving targeting. The addition of the half dozen DBs will help the Miami defense on third downs and the special teams with coordinator Jonathan Patke according to Banda.
