At the least, if the FGA from 26 yards is good the game would have gone to overtime. The other miss Borreagales had inside of 30 yards was from 28 in a 28-25 loss to Marshall in the last game of the 2018 regular season. The kick was in the second quarter with the Panthers trailing 14-10 and essentially ended the first half.

Borregales had a 43-yard field goal blocked in the second half by former Miami Hurricanes linebacker Juwon Young. The Panthers had other opportunities but ultimately fell to the Thundering Hurd. With Borregales on the roster in 2020, Manny Diaz will not have to be concerned with short field goals.

Price was accurate once he took over, but his range was limited. All the field goal attempts from Price were inside of 40 yards. Borregales will provide Miami with more accuracy than Baxa and a bigger leg than Price. That will help the Hurricanes offense this fall. Miami will be in scoring range more often.

One missed PAT changes momentum

Miami rallied from a 28-0 first-half deficit against Virginia Tech. After going making a two-point conversion to cut the Hokies lead to 35-29, Miami set themselves up to take the lead on their next TD with a made extra-point. DeeJay Dallas‘ 62-yard run with 3:16 remaining tied the score at 35, but Baxa missed the extra point.
