Four-star linebacker Jaydon Hood from St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale became another South Florida player to commit elsewhere when he pledged to Michigan on Monday. The Miami football program has other LBs in their sights.

Four-star linebacker Jaydon Hood from St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale committed to Michigan on Monday. Hood is another player from South Florida taking his talents away from South Beach. With two LBs committed to the Class of 2021, the Miami football program would like to add one more.

Hood’s decision to matriculate away from home will not crush the Hurricanes 2021 recruiting class. Three-star LBs Ja’Corey Hamett and Tyler Johnson are already committed to Miami. Andrew Ivins of Inside the U recorded a crystal ball for three-star LB Deshawn Troutman of Orlando on Monday.

Ivins reported on Monday that Hood visited Miami for Junior Day in January and the defensive staff was interacting with the Michigan bound recruit through  Zoom and other online applications. The Miami football staff is expected to keep in contact with Hood throughout the recruiting process hoping to flip him late.

Troutman grew up in South Florida and likes the Miami football program a lot even though he has yet to visit the Coral Gables campus. Troutman also holds offers from Florida State, Louisville, Minnesota and West Virginia. Ivins is the only recruiting analyst to log a crystal ball for Troutman currently.

Miami seems to be clearly in front as 247Sports lists him warm only to Miami. Ivins suggested that a commitment from Troutman could be coming over the next few weeks. Troutman is 6’1, 205 pounds and the nation’s 932nd ranked player, 38th ranked inside LB and 126th ranked player in Florida.

Next. Miami should recruit Minnesota 4-star de-committed DT Regis. dark

Other than Hood and Troutman, Miami has offers to ILBs Jackie Marshall of Reserve, Louisiana and Zachary Lovett of Rockledge, Florida. Neither player is high on Miami. Miami has offers to 22 outside LBs in the 2021 recruiting cycle. Three-star Sebastian Sagar from Brooklyn is highly considering Miami
