In an interview with Rivals.Com’s four-star Miami Northwestern safety Kamren Kinchens discussed his recruitment with the Miami football program.

Four-star safety Kamren Kinchens from Miami Northwestern’s relationship with the Miami football program has grown during the two months of isolation due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Kinchens stated he usually speaks with Miami co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Ephraim Banda every day over the last two months.

Three of Kinchens teammates, three-stars, linebacker Ja’Corey Hammett, tight end Khalil Brantley and cornerback Tim Burns are all committed to the Miami football program. Four-star wide receiver Romello Brinson from Northwestern also has Miami highly in the mix. Kinchens and Brinson are both considering Texas A&M.

Kinchens has a Rivals.Com rating of 5.8 is their 168th ranked player nationally, the eighth-ranked safety and 24th ranked player in Florida. The 247Sports composite lists Kinchens as the 299th ranked player, 19th ranked safety and 49th ranked player in Florida in the 2021 recruiting class. Kinchens would be a big boost for Miami.

Miami doesn’t need a safety in the class of 2021 after signing four in 2020. Four-star safety Avantae Williams was the top-ranked signee for Miami in the Class of 2020. The other safeties Miami signed in 2020 are four-star Jalen Harrell and three-stars Keshawn Washington and Brian Balom.

"“ON MIAMI:“It’s my hometown school. They are just really going hard right now. I’m liking Miami more than ever.”ON MIAMI’S RECENT PUSH:“The relationship I have with Coach [Ephraim] Banda keeps growing. It has really grown during this time right now and it keeps growing more and more. We talk more every day and it gets better every time we talk. He basically has me falling in love with the place all over again.”ON WHERE MIAMI STANDS:“I’m a lot higher on them now than I was last month or before that.”They (Nebraska) are outside the group with Miami, Auburn and (Texas) A&M. I still like them. We’ll see. I want to go visit. Let’s just say they are in the middle. They aren’t out of the picture.”"

It’s not surprising that Kinchens told Rivals that Banda is leading the way this his recruitment. Banda finished 14th with 2020 signees among coaches nationally. Four-star Corey Collier from Miami Palmetto and three-stay Daymon David from Reisterstown, Maryland are the other 2021 safeties strongly considering Miami.

Next. Miami 2021 class moves to 13th with Troutman commitment. dark

Andrew Ivins and David Lake of Inside the U have crystal balls for Kinchens to Miami for 2021. The new 247sports confidence ratings have Ivins with Kinchens to Miami at one and Lake at five out of 10. Receiving commitments from any combination of Kinchens, Collier and David would be a big addition to the 2021 Miami signees.
