Jabari Ismael WDE

Four-star defensive end Jabari Ismael is one of the more interesting recruits for the Miami football program in 2021. Ismael’s father Victor on the Hurricanes strength staff. Ismael has grown up around a part of the Miami football program and on his 247Sports profile, Miami is the only school he is projected to be warm on.

Lake reported that Ismael is still planning on taking his visits before making a decision. It is tough to know when that will happen after the NCAA recently extended the dead period through July 31. Ismael has a list of over a dozen Power Five schools that are interested in him.

Ismael is the 217th ranked played nationally, the 14th weakside defensive end and 30th ranked player in Florida in the Class of 2021. Miami has yet to receive a commitment from a DE for 2021. The Hurricanes are likely going to need to add depth at DE for 2021. Miami faces the possibility of losing three DEs after the 2020 season.

Temple Graduate transfer

Quincy Roche

is on to the NFL after the 2020 season. Rising redshirt sophomore

Greg Rousseau

will almost definitely enter the 2021 NFL Draft. With a strong 2020 season, rising redshirt junior

Jaelan Phillips

is a strong candidate to follow. The Hurricanes have talent at DE but will be thin entering 2021.

The addition of Ismael and one or two other edge rushers will be important to adding depth to the Miami edge rushers for 2021 that will be led by 2020 redshirt freshmen Jahfari Harvey and Cameron Williams. Miami currently holds commitments at DT for 2021 from Collins and three-star Allan Haye.
