Malik Nabers WR
The majority of the 2021 commitments to the Miami football program are from South Florida. Four-star tight end Elijah Arroyo and three-stars, linebacker Deshawn Troutman and defensive back Malik Curtis are the only players currently committed to Miami for 2021 that reside outside of Dade or Broward counties.
Arroyo and Troutman grew up in Miami and their families later moved to Dallas and Orlando. One out of state player with his sights on the Hurricanes is four-star WR Malik Nabers. Nabers is currently strongly considering Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State and Oklahoma in addition to Miami.
The only crystal ball for Nabers is to Miami by Ivins. Ivins gives a confidence score of two to Nabers choosing the Hurricanes. The direction of Nabers recruitment points to Miami in the lead. Nabers is the 251st ranked player nationally, the 47th ranked WR and eighth-ranked player in Louisiana.
With George as the only WR currently committed to Miami for 2021, Nabers would be a good complement as the second WR in the class. The Hurricanes are expected to sign three to four WRs in the new spread system being run by offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee who was hired in January.
At 6’0, 190 pounds, Nabers has the size at WR preferred by Lashlee and new WR coach Rob Likens. Mike Harley is the only senior WR on the Miami roster for 2020. Juniors Dee Wiggins and Mark Pope have the option of entering the 2021 NFL Draft.
