With the commitment announcement of four-star wide receiver Romello Brinson less than 48 hours away, the Miami football program has emerged as the favorite according to Rivals.Com.

Four-star wide receiver Romello Brinson from Miami Northwestern is potentially one of the marquee signees in the 2021 Miami football signing class. With Brinson commitment announcement less than 48 hours away, the Miami football program is the favorite according to Rivals.Com.

Brinson was commited to Miami in 2019, but de-commited after the Hurricanes embarrassing loss to FIU last November. Jacolby George who committed to Miami last week was also a 2019 commitment and then de-commitment after the loss to the Panthers. George is the only WR currently commited to Miami.

The competition to receive a commitment from Brinson has been widely reported to come down to the Hurricanes and Georgia. Texas A&M had been declared the favorite last month with Alabama and LSU also among the finalists. There has been a lot of speculation where Brinson will sign.

The 2020 recruiting cycle for the class of 2021 has been unprecedented. More players are committing this spring than ever before. With campus visits on hold and summer football camps canceled players are making their decisions earlier than ever before. Nearly double the number of players are commited now than in 2019.

"1. MIAMIMiami feels good about where it stands with Brinson headed into his announcement. The in-demand wideout has already been committed to the Hurricanes once but backed off that pledge in November of last year.So while there’s little to separate Miami and Georgia at the moment, we’ll give Miami the edge on the basis of familiarity and proximity to home. UM has always been in the picture, sure, but it seems Manny Diaz and company made up a ton of ground during the pandemic. The smart money is on the Hurricanes."

The Miami football staff has done an exceptional job procuring talent in the last three months. Among the players committed to the Hurricanes since March are four-star tight end, Elijah Arroyo, George and three-star center Ryan Rodriguez who is moving up the rankings. A commitment from Brinson would be a huge boost.

Next. Romello Brinson decision likely down to Miami and Georgia. dark

The 2021 Miami recruiting class currently ranks 14th nationally. There is not much separating the Hurricanes and ninth-ranked Iowa. A commitment from Brinson would boost the 2021 Miami recruiting class five spots past the Hawkeyes into the top 10 with the ninth-ranked recruiting class.
