The commitment of four-star wide receiver Romello Brinson moved the 2021 Miami football recruiting class into the top 10 nationally and tight ends coach Stephen Field into the top four recruiters in the country in the same cycle.

Tight ends coach Stephen Field has been a recruiting force for the Miami football program since he was hired to replace Todd Hartley by Manny Diaz in 2019. Field is fourth nationally and first in the ACC among recruiters in the 2021 class. Field is credited with seven of the 16 commits or nearly half of Miami’s 2021 class.

Four-star wide receiver Romello Brinson who commited to the Miami football program Saturday is the latest Hurricanes commit for 2021 that Field has been given credit for. Laurence Seymore, Elijah Arroyo, Ja’Corey Hammett, Khalil Brantley, Tim Burns and Deshawn Troutman were all at least partially recruited by Field.

Four of the commited recruits to Miami, Brinson, Brantley, Hammet and Burns, play at Miami Northwestern High School. Brinson noted to Inside the U that Field used to coach there and that played a big role in his decision to attend Miami. Arroyo is the only player out of Fields recruits that are from out of state.

Arroyo lives in Frisco, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. Field will be the four-star TE’s position coach. Arroyo grew up in Miami for a large part of his childhood as a big Miami football fan. The opportunity to return home played a big role in his decision to commit to Miami. Troutman is from Orlando and also has Miami roots.

Troutman played youth football with fellow 2021 commit Tyler Johnson, the younger brother of Miami legendary safety Jaquan Johnson. Seymore preps at Miami Palmetto that has an extremely talented team that includes top Miami prospect, defensive tackle, Leonard Taylor. Fields is working on several other Miami prospects.

Andrew Ivins of Inside the U reported on Sunday that Fields is the primary recruiter for four-star Northwestern safety Kam Kinchens and three-star Miami Central running back Amari Daniels. Kinchens is set to announce his commitment on July 11. The decision for Kinchens is between Miami, Auburn and Texas A&M.

Daniels recently named a top four of Georgia, Nebraska, Penn State and Texas A&M. Many analysts believe that Miami is still competing to sign him. Daniels has not announced a decision date. The Miami inner city is considered to be part of Field’s territory and he has been nearly flawless recruiting there.
