Xavier Restrepo signed with the Miami football program in the Class of 2020 as a three-star athlete. Restrepo is expected to back up as a slot receiver in 2020.

Xavier Restrepo signed with the Miami football program in the Class of 2020 as a three-star athlete who was the 621st ranked player, the 36th ranked athlete and the 84th ranked player in Florida. Restrepo is projected as a slot receiver and valuable kick returner with the Hurricanes.

Restrepo could see the field during his first season in college as a backup slot receiver and will be in the competition as a punt and kick returner. Restrepo has been compared to former Miami wide receiver Braxton Berrios. Berrios led Miami in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns as a senior in 2017.

Restrepo caught  18 passes for 294 yards and six touchdowns, completed 12 passes in 16 attempts for 180 yards, ran five times for 31 yards and two touchdowns and added 282 yards in kickoff and punt returns as a senior in 2019 for Deerfield Beach, High School. Restrepo will provide Miami with a versatile player.

Restrepo is part of a group of four WRs that signed in the Miami Class of 2020. Four-star Michael Redding III and three-stars Dazalin Worsham and Keyshawn Smith provide the Miami football roster with excellent depth in the WR unit for the next three seasons. Slot receiver will open up after the 2020 season.

Senior Mike Harley should have an excellent season in 2020 in the new up-tempo offense under new offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee. With Harley in his last season of eligibility Restrepo and junior Mark Pope will have a chance to step into that role in 2021. Pope could start as an outside receiver in 2020.

Miami is expected to run about 15 more plays per game in 2020 than they did in 2021. That will create more opportunities for everyone on offense to increase what their numbers were or would be under former offensive coordinator Dan Enos. Restrepo has a bright future as a versatile player in the Miami offense.
