Malik Nabers. 250. player. 834. Comeaux. . Wide receiver.

Malik Nabers is a four-star wide receiver from Lafayette, Louisiana who would be an excellent addition to Romello Brinson and Jacolby George a pair of four-star WRs who have commited to the Miami football program earlier this month. Nabers is the 250th ranked player, 45th ranked wide receiver and eighth-ranked in Louisiana in 2021.

Nabers is 6’0, 190 pounds, the ideal size that is preferred by new Miami WR coach Rob Likens. Nabers has the toughness and athletic skills to make tough catches according to his scouting report by Simmons. Miami signed four WRs in 2020 and should return everyone but senior WR Mike Harley.

"Sturdy receiver with enough size to win on the outside. Plays with grit and toughness. Shows outstanding jump ball ability for a prospect without elite height. Good concentration in contested situations. Ambitious and active after the catch. Limited route tree in high school but shows the precise movements and efficiency to be a very good route-runner on the next level. Runs hard off the ball and has a clean release against press coverage. Ultra competitive prospect. Good hands. Productive. Plays cornerback and has the traits to be an elite defensive back if he wanted to be. Athleticism is good not great. Isn’t tested against high school competition. Understated prospect that we think will maximize his ability be an impact Power Five starter on either side of the football and be a mid-round NFL Draft pick."

Juniors Dee Wiggins and Mark Pope will be eligible for the 2021 NFL Draft. Unless either or both have a huge breakout season for Miami in 2020, it would be in their best interest to return for their senior seasons. That could make Nabers a redshirt candidate in 2021. Nabers appears to be leaning towards Miami.

Ismael seems certain to choose Miami and Nabers is leaning towards the Hurricanes. Taylor and Williams will likely depend on how good of a season Miami has. The Hurricanes might have to win 10 games to sign two of the nation’s top 20 players. Collier will also have to be impressed by a strong 2020 to sign with the Hurricanes.
