The elite 11 quarterback camp that brings together the best high school signal-callers in the county will not include Miami Hurricanes prospect Jake Garcia.

Miami Hurricanes prospect Jake Garcia who is the seventh-ranked quarterback in the Class of 2021, was not one of the 20 signal-callers invited to the Elite 11 National Camp scheduled June 29 through July 1, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Garcia is currently commited to USC but Miami is working hard to flip him.

USC reportedly wants to sign two QBs in their 2021 Class. The Trojans received a commitment from four-star QB Miller Moss who is the ninth-ranked QB in the Class fo 2021. Moss is one of the 20 invited QBs to the Elite 11. The Elite 11 webpage states the camp is designed to further the development of high school QBs.

It is not known why Garcia did not receive an invite when Moss and multiple other QBs ahead of him have. At 6’2.5,188 pounds out of LaHabra, California, Garcia is expected to emerge as one of the best QBs in the Class of 2021. Garcia has been commited to USC since September 2019. Garcia visited Miami twice last year.

The 2021 Miami football recruiting class is ranked seventh in the nation but does not have a QB yet. There has been some speculation that the recent commitments of wide receiver Romello Brinson and Jacolby George will help the Miami Hurricanes eventually secure a commitment from a QB for 2021.

The scouting report on Garcia from Greg Biggins who is the National Scouting Director for 247 Sports lauds his athleticism and delivery of the football. Garcia has a strong and accurate arm that will translate well in college. Although Garcia is listed as a pro-style QB, he should fit in well to the up-tempo spread Miami will run.

"“Loose, athletic frame with a pure stroke and effortless delivery. He throws with touch and accuracy, can change speeds and has a nice feel for the position. Can throw with timing and has a nice feel for the position. Understands when to take some off and doesn’t try and throw all fastballs.Has tightened his release and gets the ball out quick from different arm angles. Has improved athletically and looks comfortable rolling out and throwing on the run.Can continue to improve throwing a tighter ball and doesn’t spin it as consistently as you would like to see but don’t think it will be an issue for him moving forward. Garcia would be the highest-rated QB to sign with Miami since Brad Kaaya in 2014. Kaaya was the seventh rated pro-style QB in 2014. The 20 QBs commited to Elite 11 are mentioned in an article by 247 Sports breaking down who will be participating in Murfreesboro. Former Miami prospect Aaron McLaughlin turned down the Elite 11.

Next. Jake Garcia knew USC wanted two QBs in Class of 2021. dark

McLaughlin is commited to North Carolina State and was a QB that the Miami coaching staff was high on. Jalen Milroe, a Texas commit, who the Miami staff also holds in high regard and who the Hurricanes are trying to flip was not invited to the Elite 11. Patience is going to be required with the recruitment of a Miami QB in 2021.
