New offensive line coach Garin Justice has made an impact with the Miami Hurricanes football program in recruiting South Florida since being hired earlier this year.

Head coach Manny Diaz made overhauling the offensive coaching staff for the Miami Hurricanes football program a priority during the 2020 offseason. New offensive line coach Garin Justice returned to South Florida with his hire earlier this year and has already made an impression on high school coaches.

Justice was previously the offensive line coach at Florida Atlantic in 2016 and 2017. In five months, Justice has made a big impact in securing talent to upgrade the talent on the offensive line for the Miami football program. Landing transfers Jarrid Williams and Issiah Walker will have the most immediate impact.

Williams signed with Miami earlier this month as a six-year graduate transfer from Houston. Williams redshirted as a freshman in 2015 and had to take a medical redshirt in 2019 after a season-ending injury in the fourth game of the season. Walker is a freshman who spent the spring semester at Florida.

Justice has also done an outstanding job holding into the four-star 2021 commitment Laurence Seymore and securing commitments from the sixth-best center in 2021 Ryan Rodriguez and four-star offensive tackle Michael McLaughlin. Justice has also been praised for his ability as a teacher and communicator with players.

Complements from a former Miami star

Retired offensive lineman Leon Searcy played at Miami in the late 1980s and early 1990s was the 11th pick of the 1992 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers and spent eight years in the NFL and was the offensive line coach at Florida International from 2004-06. Searcy praised Justice on the Five Rings, A Canes thing podcast.

Searcy who is currently a sports talk show host in Jacksonville discussed the knowledge Justice has and his communication skills. Miami football pregame show host Alex Donno and South Florida recruiting guru Larry Blustein host the podcast after succeeding Miami sideline reporter Josh Darrow.
