Three players stand out as the most likely to commit to the Miami football program next following the commitment of four-star safety Kamren Kinchens on Saturday.

The commitment of four-star safety Kamren Kinchens on Saturday to the Miami football program solidified the Hurricanes ranking as the 12th best class in 2021. Three potential signees for Miami in the Class of 2021 stand out as the most likely players to commit next to the Hurricanes. Several other players remain on the radar.

Kinchens is the second highest-ranked defensive player commited to Miami for 2021. Two of the three players most likely to commit to the Miami football program next are on the defensive side of the ball. The top five players commited to the Hurricanes for 2021 and seven of the top nine are on the offensive side.

The 2021 Miami recruiting class is still looking for a quarterback, likely to add another wide receiver, defensive linemen and cornerback. While Miami is chasing a few five-star recruits, the Hurricanes have several three and four-star prospects who are more likely to commit for 2021.

Three players in the Class of 2021 are more likely than anyone else to commit the Miami football program next. Three-star WR Brashard Smith and defensive ends, four-star Jabari Ismael and three-star Thomas Davis are the players most likely to commit to Miami next.

Three-star wide receiver Brashard Smith

Smith is one of the fastest and most versatile players in the Class of 2021. The 355th ranked player, 58th ranked WR and 54th ranked player in Florida would fit in perfectly into the new up-tempo, spread offense Miami will begin running in 2020 under offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee who was hired in January.

Smith de-commited from Florida on May 1 and Miami has been trending since. Reports have been rumored that Smith could be committing soon. Smith is an Under Armour All-American. Auburn, Florida, Oregon and Tennessee are the other schools high on Smith’s lists. Miami is considered the favorite to sign Smith.

Four-star defensive end Jabari Ismael

Ismael is the son of Miami assistant strength and conditioning coach Vic Ismael. Ismael is projected to eventually sign with Miami, but Oregon is strongly in the picture. Rumors have abounded that Ismael wants to visit other schools including the Ducks where former Miami offensive lineman Mario Cristobal is the head coach.

Andrew Ivins of Inside the U speculated that as Miami continues to receive more commits they could apply pressure to Ismael to commit to the Hurricanes. Miami does not have any DEs commited to their 2021 recruiting class. Miami signed three DEs in the Class of 2020, but at least two could move to defensive tackle.

Three-star Defensive End Thomas Davis

Thomas Davis seems the most likely to commit to Miami among the three projected here. Davis has a commitment date of August 24 (his birthday) with Ismael and Smith yet to commit to an announcement date. Davis was previously commited to Mississippi State. Once Davis de-committed Miami became the front runner.

Davis is the 862nd ranked player nationally, the 50th ranked weakside defensive end and 76th ranked player in Georgia in the Class of 2021. At 6’2.5, 235 pounds some analysts have questioned if Davis has the size to play on the defensive line in college. With an exceptional 4.71 40-yard dash Davis’ speed is ideal for the Miami defense.

Davis will utilize his speed at the next level as an edge rusher to get the QB. His time in the 40 would have been one of the highest at the NFL Combine in February. Davis has a good future but will likely have to grow into his body and is a prime candidate to redshirt as a freshman in fall 2021.

Next. Miami adds Kamren Kinchens as 2nd ranked defensive commit. dark

Miami is in a good position in the Class of 2021. Davis, Ismael and Smith would help solidify the class. To push into the top 10 Miami is going to have to add a high-level four-star signee or a five-star player. A lot with the 2021 Miami signing class will be determined with what the Hurricanes record is in 2020.
