A report from Andrew Ivins of Inside the U projects that a commitment to the Miami Hurricanes is expected soon from four-star defensive end Jabari Ismael.

A report emerged from Inside the U by Andrew Ivins on Wednesday afternoon that the son of Miami strength and conditioning coach Vic Ishmael, four-star defensive end prospect Jabari Ishmael is expected to announce a commitment to the Hurricanes soon. Ishmael would be the first DE in the 2021 Miami Hurricanes class.

Ivins stated in the report he projects Ishmael to commit to Miami soon. David Lake and Gaby Urrutia, Ivins’ colleagues at Inside the U have previously recorded crystal balls for Ishmael towards Miami. Ishmael is the 216th ranked player, 14th ranked weakside DE and 30th ranked player in Florida in the Class of 2021.

Oregon led by head coach Mario Cristobal who is a former Miami offensive lineman was putting the pressure on Ishmael in his recruitment. Ishmael has previously stated he wanted to take visits before making a decision on where he will play in college. The shutdown on recruiting through at least August 31 has made that difficult.

The Miami Hurricanes have benefitted from the shutdown in recruiting with multiple local high school players committing to the Hurricanes over the past several months. Four-star safety Kamren Kinchens was the latest on Saturday. Miami is currently ranked 12th in the 247Sports 2021 composite team rankings.

The addition of Ismael would keep the Hurricanes 12th but get them much closer to 11th ranked Texas. With commitments and de-commitments, the recruiting rankings are always fluctuating. Ivins put a confidence of eight out of 10 that Ishmael will sign with Miami. Urrutia matched Iins and Lake has Ismhael at five.
