Four-star running back Thad Franklin and the top-ranked kicker in the Class of 2021 Andres Borregales are commited to the Miami football program for 2021 and were both named first-team preseason All-Americans by MaxPreps sports.

Four-star running back Thad Franklin is expected to provide the Miami football program with a power running style that they do not currently have on their roster. Franklin and his teammate at Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna Kicker Andres Borregales were named first-team preseason All-Americans by MaxPreps Sports.

Franklin is the 225th ranked player, 10th ranked RB and 33rd ranked player in Florida in the Class of 2021. In 2019, Franklin ran for 2,282 yards and 28 touchdowns. In the state championship game last December, Franklin ran for a record 333 yards on 47 carries with five TDs to lead the Lions to a third straight state title.

Franklin was offered a scholarship for basketball by Penn State and is reportedly still looking at other schools. Franklin is currently the fourth-ranked player for the 2021 Miami recruiting class. Wide receivers Romello Brinson and Jacolby George are first and third and guard Laurence Seymore is second.

Borregales is a future star at kicker. His accuracy and range will likely have him playing on Sundays in three to four years. In 2019, Borregales made 12-of-15 field goals with a long of 57 yards and averaged 40.2 yards per punt. In college, Borregales will be strictly a kicker. His brother Jose is scheduled to be Miami’s kicker in 2020.

Borregales, Franklin, Brinson, George and Seymore are part of the 2021 Miami recruiting class that is currently ranked 12th nationally. The Hurricanes are stacking quality back to back classes after signing the nation’s 13th ranked recruiting class in 2020. Miami currently has 17 commits for 2021 and are working on more.
