Four-star defensive end Jabari Ishmael will announce his college choice between the Florida State, Oregon and Miami football programs on Friday as reported by Inside the U.

Andrew Ivins of Inside the U reported on Thursday afternoon that four-star defensive end Jabari Ismael told him to expect an announcement around 6 PM ET on Friday announcing where he will be attending college. The Miami football program is projected to receive Ismael’s commitment ahead of Florida State and Oregon.

Ismael is the 216th ranked player, the 14th ranked weakside defensive end and 30th ranked player in Florida in the 2021 Class. Miami currently has the 12th ranked recruiting class for 2021. A commitment from Ishmael would not be enough to move Miami up in the rankings but it would get them within two points of Texas.

Ishmael preps at Miami Columbus High School which is the alma mater of Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal. Working in the Hurricanes favor is that Ishmael’s father Vic is a strength and conditioning assistant coach for Miami. Ishmael had 46 tackles, three sacks and a fumble recovery in 2019.

Ishmael would be the first defensive end and third defensive lineman to commit to Miami for 2021. The Hurricanes currently have four-star defensive tackle Savion Collins and three-star DT Allan Haye commited for 2021. Ishmael would become the highest-rated defensive player commited to Miami for 2021.

Ishmael would be the fourth highest-rated commit to Miami for 2021 overall behind wide receivers Romello Brinson and Jacolby George and offensive guard Laurence Seymore. The latest commit to the Miami football program was four-star safety Kamren Kinchens on July 11. More will be coming in the next month.

dark. Next. Miami 5-star DT prospect Leonard Taylor committing August 6

Five-star DT Leonard Taylor is expected to announce his commitment on August 6 and three-star DE Thomas Davis will announce which college football program he is committing to on his August 24 birthday. Florida is the crystal ball favorite for Taylor. Miami leads for the commitment from Davis.
