Two-time Miami football de-commit cornerback Jaiden Francois has entered the transfer portal after signing with Nebraska as part of their 2020 class.

Four-star cornerback Jaiden Francois who signed with Nebraska as part of their 2020 class has entered the transfer portal. Francois twice de-commited from the Miami football program during the recruiting process. In a short and simple tweet posted on Friday Francois said “My recruitment is now officially open.”

Francois is currently listed as a cornerback at 6’0, 184 pounds. Coming out of high school, Francois was the 271st ranked player according to the 247Sports composite, the 28th ranked safety and the 46th ranked player in Florida in the Class of 2020. Francois was one of seven players from Florida Nebraska signed in their 2020 Class.

Current Cornhuskers head coach Scott Frost who led Nebraska to a share of the 1997 National Championship has tied to Florida as the former head coach at Central Florida. Francois and four-star safety Henry Gray from Miami Central were the two highest-ranked defensive players who had enrolled with Nebraska in 2020.

South Dade alum Francois and Gray have both already announced their intention to transfer out of Linclon before ever playing a game. Gray has since announced his intention to transfer to FIU. Nebraska beat out Miami for Francois and four-star linebacker Keyshawn Greene from Crawfordsville, Florida.

There was some consternation on National Signing Day before Francois have Nebraska his signature. The star defensive back took some phone calls and stepped away during the announcement ceremony before ultimately signing with the Cornhuskers. Francois declared he followed his heart.

It is difficult to tell if the Miami football program would still be interested in Francois. The Hurricanes signed four-star CB Isaiah Dunson and three-star Marcus Clarke in their 2020 class. Miami would have to count Francois towards the 2021 signing class with all the 2020 scholarships accounted for.
